White Holiday Margarita

Sip a bit of the tropics this holiday season!  This White Holiday Margarita has the flavors of the islands – coconut, lime, rum.  It’s creamy and refreshing.  It also packs a punch with three types of alcohol.

Here in Florida, we decorate palm trees and Santa has a surfboard.  With the weather still balmy and the beach beckoning, tropical cocktails work all year round and a white holiday margarita is one of my favorites.  It’s sweet, creamy, and fruity.  I love the flavors of the coconut and the rum.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cups silver tequila
  • 1 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup white cranberry juice
  • 1 cup canned coconut milk
  • ¼ cup coconut cream (I used Coco Lopez)
  • ¾ cup coconut rum
  • ½ cup simple syrup
  •  the rim of the glass

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher, mix all the ingredients except the sanding sugar.
  2. Add ice to a cocktail shaker and pour in a portion of the margarita mixture.
  3. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker is icy cold.
  4. To serve, dip the rim of a margarita glass into lime juice.
  5. Pour some red sanding sugar onto a shallow plate.
  6. Dip the rim of the glass into the sugar to coat evenly.
  7. Allow the rim to dry before straining the margarita into the glass.
  8. Enjoy.
